Ambelim Sports Club overpowered St Anthony's SC Colva 6-2 to move into the finals of 10th London Trophy football organised by Goa Velha SC at Agasaim grounds, Saturday.
St Anthony's took an early lead as Nelson Gomes curved a 30m free-kick into the Ambelim goal keeping goalkeeper Benny Silva rooted. Donald Rocha, after collecting the ball from Macrom, dribbled past a few Colva defenders to let go a scorcher that sailed over the Colva bar. Joao Fernandes, after a fine run on the left of Ambelim, shot powerfully but Rehman Cardozo cleared the ball to safety.
Donald equalised for Ambelim with his trade mark left-footer, crashing into the nets and giving Colva goalkeeper Danzil Dias no chance. The next minute, Blasco Fernandes ran down the flank and crossed the ball back to Niall Cardozo who placed the ball giving Danzil no chance. Jade Colaco then added his name to the score sheet finishing with a header a Blasco centre. At the break, Ambelim were leading 3-1.
After the break, Ambelim were all over Colva defence. Niall completed his hat-trick after dribbling past a couple of Colva defenders and blasting the ball in. Macror joined the party as he received the ball from Michael and chipped the ball into the Colva goal. Snedden Rodrigues reduced the margin for Colva as he blasted a rebound from Ambelim goalkeeper who failed to hold on to Joseph Pereira shot.
