Amey Anil Naik bagged the men's crown at the 8th Ponda Taluka Level Table Tennis tournament organized by Shree Mangirish Vidyadayini Samstha Mangeshi and Wagle High School Golden Jubilee Celebration Committee at Dessai Pratishthan Hall, Mangeshi on Friday.
Earlie, Audhuth Kamat, Vice Chairman of Samstha, welcomed the gathering. Dr Narayan Desai, Educationist & ex-Principal of Higher Secondary School,Mashem was the chief guest and gave away the prizes. Sandeep Pagi, PE Teacher of the school and chief referee of the tournament was felicitated at the hands of chief guest for his dedicated services to table tennis for last eight years.
Mitasha Aigal, Headmistress of Wagle High School, introduced the chief guest. Sudan Kunkolienkar, secretary of Samstha and Damodar Naik, sarpanch also spoke on the occasion.
Dr Narayan Desai congratulated the organisers and all the participants of the tournament for the excellent spirit they displayed during the tournament. He also spoke on the importance of sports
to the students. Sandeep Pagi, chief referee gave the report on the tournament.
In all 229 players took part in the tournament. SandipPagi, PE teacher of Wagle High School was instrumental in conducting the entire tournament very efficiently. Sanjay Nadkarni, sports-incharge of Golden Jubilee Celebration Committee the proposed vote of thanks. Sagar Sakordekar, tournament coordinator and secretary of Shree Mangirish Vidyadayini Samstha, compered.
