Jacob’s troupe and plays his role to perfection in the tiatr‘Amchea Gharant Tiatr’.
Mithun had an insignificant brush with acting at a young ageof 11 when he took part in a small play ‘Niz Mog’ in his own village where hehad sung a song too. That was the end of it, till opportunity knocked again in2010 to assist his co-villager Camilo Fernandes in the latter’s tiatr ‘Nith’ asa stage manager. He adds, “It so happened that while I was assisting the troupeas the Stage Manager, Ben Evangelisto who was the main comedian wanted an‘extra’ to be on stage alongside him in the comedy sequence. He requested me tomake the entry on stage during the act. I obliged, and it was here that, Iinstantly overcame my stage fright and developed a kind of confidence which Ifelt I lacked before. While standing on the stage before a packed crowd I feltit was so easy to face the audience,” admits Mithun.
The opportunity to act in tiatr was however waiting to begrabbed the Kala Academy Annual Tiatr competition in 2011. Prince Jacob who wasscouting for new talent was present at this show. He approached Mithun andoffered to cast him in his next tiatr i.e. ‘Dusmanak pasun nirminaka’ in 2011.
“I politely declined the instant offer from Prince Jacob,since I had some family commitments to fulfil and therefore requested him thatif the offer was still open than I would join his troupe during the nextseason. And that is how I landed a role in Prince Jacob latest tiatr ‘AmcheaGharant Tiatr,” says a soft spoken Mithun.
Mithun has the talent to act and is comfortable in thesinging department too. He is tall with lean physique, possesses good looks, andthe desired body language and a flawless diction and smooth delivery. These arethe prerequisites to make a good actor. He has got to be consistent though ifhe wants to go places. But under the guidance and direction of Prince Jacob,Mithun can dream big and look forward to fulfilling them too.
