Goa’s James Anderson and Lincoln Furtado won the silver medal in the 60-plus doubles category at the 10th National Sub-Junior/Junior/Senior/Veteran National Pickleball Championship 2026-27 in Kochi, Kerala.
A 22-member Goa contingent participated in the championship held at Kochi City, Ernakulam. Anderson and Furtado’s silver was Goa’s only medal at the national championship.
Goa Pickleball Association secretary Manguirish Kunde said the sport was gaining popularity in the state, with courts coming up in Panaji, Margao, Assagao, Vasco and other locations.
“Pickleball is steadily gaining popularity in Goa, and the growing number of courts coming up at Panaji, Margao, Assagao, Vasco and other locations is a clear indication of the increasing interest in the sport. With continued participation and structured development, we are confident that Goa will make an even stronger impact at the national level in the coming years,” said Kunde.
