Aquem Achiever got the better of Max Seven 6-4 to win the Margao Futsal League 2025, organised under the 'Model Margao' initiative by Yogiraj Digambar Kamat, which concluded on Sunday at the First Track Arena near Laxmi Empire Hotel, opposite the Railway Station in Margao. The three-day tournament took place from April 11 to 13.
Aquem Achievers scored through Konnesh (4) while Atif scored a brace while Chrisval scored a brace and Velinton and Kusval scored one goal each for Max Seven.
Digamber Kamat MLA of Margao was the chief guest and gave away the prizes to winners and runners in presence of Yogiraj Kamat and other dignitaries
During the tournament inauguration, Kamat addressed the participants and spoke about the objectives of the 'Model Margao' initiative.
“Sports not only build fitness but also unity, brotherhood, and discipline among our youth. I commend Yogiraj for this excellent initiative under the Model Margao banner. Events like these are vital in keeping Margao’s vibrant sporting culture alive,” he remarked.
A total of 48 teams from the Margao constituency participated in the 5-a-side futsal tournament.
