GFDC Arambol, GFDC Aldona and GFDC Dona Paula have made it to the semi-finals of ongoing GFDC-Vodafone Rising Start Football Festival after the quarter-finals of GFDC-Vodafone Rising Star Football Festival commenced on Monday at Aldona.
In the U-10 Boys category, GFDC Arambol defeated GFDC Aldona 2-0 and made it to the semis. GFDC Arambol were the champions in the boys U-10 category of last year's edition of Rising Star Football Festival. Arambol were aggressive in their game and scored both the goals in the first half. The first goal was scored in the fifth minute by Sanford Fernandes with a beautiful volley. Second goal was in scored in the 10th minute by Christiano D’Mello. Sanford was named the player of the match.
In the Girls U-13 match, GFDC Dona Paula defeated GFDC Sanquelim 1-0 in a penalty shoot-out. GFDC Sanquelim gave a tough fight to Dona Paula and both teams remained goalless in their given time. Milvia Gonsalves converted the only penalty and took her side to the victory. Milvia had also played a crucial role as a defender and was named player of the match.
In the Boys U-13 Category match, GFDC Aldona prevailed over GFDC Siolim defeating them 2-0. Bhuvan Parwar and Aryan Parwar were the goal scorers. Bhuvan scored in the 37th minute and Aryan in the 46th minute in the second half. Bhuvan scored the first goal through a penalty and Aryan converted a header into a beautiful goal. Aryan Parwar was named player of the match.
