Belgaum United FA dominated Sporting Clube de Goa with a convincing 6-0 victory on Day 2 of the Dream Sports Championship in Goa on Tuesday.
Sheitam Meetei emerged as the Player of the Match with a decisive brace, while Shahir Ali also netted twice and provided two assists.
After Ronaldo Singh opened the scoring in the 18th minute, Shahir Ali added the second goal in the 47th minute. This was followed by a goal from Bidyananda Meitei in the 55th minute, and a brace in the 70th and 82th minute by Sheitam Meetei. Shahir closed out the win in injury time (90 + 3) with the sixth goal of the game.
The second game of the day was a closely contested match. SESA Football Academy beat Guardian Angels sports club 1-0, with Leo Soram scoring the winner from the penalty spot in the 52nd minute. The result marked SESA's successful campaign opener.
