Canacona Sports and Cultural Club trounced Don Bosco Fatorda 3-0 to enter the semifinals of the Navelim Villagers Union Trophy inter village football tournament played in memory of late Jose Santa Rita Coelho (Babush) at Rosary Church ground, Navelim on Monday.
Canacona Sports and Cultural Club netted the goals through Breenan Rodrigues (10th minute), Preload Velip (20th minute) and Velvino Fernandes (36th minute).
Rossman Cruz in quarters of Rising Cup
Rossman Cruz Nagoa Verna beat Curtorim Gymkhana 3-0 to move into the quarterfinals of the Rising Cup 2022 football tournament organised by Rising Club of Sanvorcotto Cuncolim at Cuncolim ground on Monday.
Rossman Cruz opened the scoreline through Romario Dcosta who scored off a pass by Savio Fernandes in the 7th minute. In the second half, Romario netted the second goal for Rossman off a pass from Sheldon Pereira in the 37th minute. Sheldon turned the scorer for the third goal in the 46th minute.
The Man of the match award was presented to Sheldon Pereira of Rossman Cruz at the hands of secretary Francis Dias.
