Cansaulim edge hosts St Sebastian, in quarters

MARGAOrrCansaulim started the match on a positive note with Domnic Soares and Richard Rodrigues harassing the rival defenders with sharp raids. They nearly broke the deadlock in the very 4th minute when midfielder Veegan Ferrao picked up the ball from Domnic Soares inside the rival penalty box and Rody Fernandes of rival defender thwarted him from scoring with neat tackles. Down by 0-1, hosts St Sebastian tried their best to come back into the game and nearly equalized but Faizel Bepari shot wide from close range. rCrossing over, St Sebastian fired on all the cylinders in search of the equalizer and nearly found one when defender Rody Fernandes’ strong header off a flag kick taken by Faizel Bepari kissed the cross bar. Earlier, Cansaulim had a couple of scoring chances but their forwards misfired from close range. Cansaulim will meet Goa Velha in the quarter-finals on July 7.
