Guardian Angel SC were at the receiving end in today's match as they not only suffered a 3-0 defeat but had to bare the wrath of the referee who flashed the yellow card six times and sent off two players to add to team's woes

Churchill Brothers Sports Club raced to the top of the Goa Professional League ladder with a 3-0 demolition of Guardian Angel Sports Club in the GPL round four match at Duler Stadium, here on Thursday. The match witnessed a total of six yellow cards and two red cards shown all to players of Guardian Angel SC. In the first half the score was 2-0 in favour of Churchill Bros.
In the very 2nd minute, the Red Machines took the lead through Seriton Fernandes who perfectly netted in a cross from Pankaj Sona. Three minutes later, Pankaj tapped home a well-timed pass from Seriton to increase Churchill Bros lead to 2-0. In the 14th minute the Red Machines' Samson Fernandes was substituted with Sreeraj Gopalan.
In the 25th minute Guardian Angel SC missed a brilliant opportunity to pull back a goal when Gammy Costa received the ball off a pass given to him by Roger Colaco and went on to shoot the ball wide. Guardian Angel SC’s Roque Borges picked up a yellow card for a reckless tackle on Seriton in the 36th minute.
The goalkeeper of Churchill Bros made a good reflex save to keep out the ball shot in by Inacio Colaco. The Red Machines had four shots on goal in comparison to Guardian Angel SC who managed barely two shots on goal.
Post resumption, Guardian Angel SC failed to capitalize on the scoring chances that came their way. In the second half, Guardian Angel SC made three substitutions whereas Churchill Bros made two substitutions. In the 67th minute, Nicolau Borges was shown the red card and sent off by referee Tejas Nagvenkar for a foul tackle on Churchill Bros' Seriton.
The 10-man Guardian Angel SC were literally shattered when the Red Machines' Sona netted in a superb shot in the 76th minute. During the additional four minutes of the second half Guardian Angel SC’s Anthony Pereira was red carded and sent off on receiving his second yellow card for the day, reducing the team to nine men.
After today’s match Churchill Bros move to the first position in the GPL tally table with a total of ten points whereas Guardian Angel SC move to the seventh position with a total of three points.
