Churchill Bros, Signals play out 1-1 draw

Corps of Signals held Churchill Brothers to a 1-1 draw in the Goa Football Association's Professional League match played at Duler Stadium, Mapusa, on Sunday evening.

Churchill's Rahul Kumar (54') took the lead while Pawan Thakur (56') equalised from the spot for Corps
of Signals.
Both the teams worked tirelessly in order to find the breakthrough in the game but the defenders on either side cancelled out the moves of the rival strikers. Post resumption, Churchill Bros came back stronger and tried to find the upper hand in the match and missed a couple of chances before they scored in the 54th minute after a defensive lapse for the rival side wherein Rahul tapped in the ball from a corner to make
it 1-0.
However, the joy was short-lived as Corps of Signals were awarded a spot kick after the Red Machines' Rohan Adnaik handled the ball in the D-area. Corps of Signals' Pawan stepped up and made no mistake as he slotted the ball home for the equaliser.

SC Davorlim down Benaulim to win Bento memorial title

Sporting Club of Davorlim scored an easy 2-0 win over United Club of Benaulim to win the All Goa Late Jose Bento Furtado memorial inter village football tournament organised by Navelim Villagers Union at Rosary ground. All the goals came in the first half.
