Raia Sporting Club carved out a 5-2 win over Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda in the GFA's Third Division League (Salcete Zone) at Panchayat grounds, on Monday. Raia Sporting led 3-1 at half time.
Raia Sporting dominated the game and pushed their opponents on the backfoot.Raia's breakthrough came in the 24th minute when Felix D'Mello punished the rival goalkeeper with a stiff grounder.
At the other end, Don Bosco Oratory looked completely out of sorts in the opening half and did not allow them to settle down. Ciano Fernandes regained the lead in the 26th minute when he beat the rival goalkeeper with a neat finish. Down by 0-2, Don Bosco regrouped quickly and in the 33rd minute Paxton Colaco reduced the deficit. Three minutes later, Ciano Fernandes registered his brace when he unleashed a stiff shot which crashed into the net.
Crossing over, Raia Sporting continued to enjoy the lion's share of exchanges and in the 50th minute Paxton Colaco struck the second time. Ciano registered his hat-trick with a rasping strike. Mauricio Fernandes drilled the final nail into the rival coffin late in the second half.
