In doldrums following four successive defeats in the ongoing I-League, Salgaocar FC had to contend with another blow as their Scottish coach Malcolm Thomson had to leave back to his hometown ahead of the club’s second home game against Aizawl FC.
Malky, who had joined the club in August, last year cited personal reasons for this
decision to part ways with the former champions. The Scottish gaffer was with the club for the Goa
Professional League 2015 had guided the club to a 3rd place finish in the table.
Salgaocar FC have wished Malky all the best for the future. The coach’s departure at a time when the team is struggling isn’t a positive reflection of the state of affairs and if the Greens are seriously looking to revive their fortunes, they certainly need a huge push to make amends for their terrible start to the I-League campaign.
