Curtorim edged past Binday Boys 1-0 to clinch the 3rd All-Goa Football tournament organized by Miracles Miracles Sports Club, Coprimoddi - Assolda, Chandor at Panchayat Ground, Assolda on Sunday.
In a keenly contested match, it was the Curtorim side which had the first sniff at goal when Joyston Barbosa failed to beat the rival goalkeeper in a one-on-one situation as early as in the eighth minute. Only two minutes later, Binday Boys had a chance of their own when Vishal Fernandes muffed a sitter much to the disbelief of the Binday Boys bench.
Post resumption, the trend continued with both teams showing an attacking intent and had equal number of scoring chances but failed to score. The all-important goal was scored by Veron, who converted a spot kick sending the rival goalkeeper the wrong way.
Power Minister Nilesh Cabral was the chief guest and gave away the prizes in the presence of Cuncolim MLA Clafacio Dias and other dignitaries.
