VVM’s Shree Damodar College of Commerce & Economics, Margao, and Don Bosco College, Panaji, emerged overall champions in the men’s and women’s sections respectively at the Goa University Inter-Collegiate Judo Championship 2026-27.
The championship for men and women was held at the SAG Multipurpose Hall, Peddem.
Don Bosco College topped the women’s standings, with V.M. Salgaocar College of Law finishing runners-up and Rosary College of Commerce and Arts, Navelim, taking third place.
In the men’s section, Damodar College claimed the overall title, followed by P.E.S.’s Ravi S. Naik College of Arts and Science, Farmagudi, in second place. Rosary College of Commerce and Arts, Navelim, finished third.
Damodar College’s Arif Nawar was named Best Judoka in the men’s category, while Don Bosco College’s Riyansha Naik received the Best Judoka award in the women’s category.
Prof. Santosh Patkar, Principal of S.V.’s Sridora Caculo College of Commerce and Management Studies, Mapusa, was the chief guest. Judo coach Mir Dias of the Sports Authority of Goa and Balachandra B. Jadar, Assistant Director of Physical Education and Sports, Goa University, were also present and presented the medals and trophies.
