Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda, edged past CAC Cansaulim 2-1 to book place their place in the semi-finals of the Bro Eulalio Vaz Memorial football tournament, organised by Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda, at DBO ground, Murida-Fatorda, on Friday.
In the first minutes of the game, Don Bosco's Hanshlum Furtado's shot was saved by the Cansaulim goalkeeper Ashish Naik in the sixth minute.
Cansaulim's Shainiel Lucas' free-kick hit the Don Bosco cross bar and went out of play. In the 20th minute, Milson Barreto of Don Bosco scored from the box while Jude Fernandes of Cansaulim equalised in the 26th due to a defence error to level the score before half-time.
After changing ends, both teams went all out to find the net but failed to convert their chances. In the 30th minute, CAC Cansaulim's Shainel Lucas ran down from the centre and sent a long range shot to Elvis who missed to beat the Don Bosco goalkeeper Karol Soares.
Cansaulim's Shainel Lucas played a major role and created many chances for his team but luck did not go their way. Milson Barreto of Don Bosco Oratory scored again in the 49th minute from the edge of the box which was well fed by Cliff Barreto to take DBO Fatorda in the semi-finals.
