FC Goa were denied proper training facilities on the eve of their first-leg semifinals against Delhi Dynamos by the host club, much against the ISL guidelines.
An FC Goa official informed The Goan that the team was denied facilities to train on match day minus 1 at the Jawaharlal Nehru stadium in Delhi. "As per the policy of the ISL, every away team has to be given training facilities on match day minus 1 on the main pitch," the official said.
FC Goa was surprised to be told at the last minute that the ground has been rented out for a school event and the players could not train properly and on time. There was loud music, camera and video recordings and various interuptions which broke the rhythm of the Gaurs' practice session.
"This is not the first time that FC Goa have been denied facilities as per the ISL guidelines. The same was experienced by FC Goa when the main pitch was not ready in Kolkata and the team had to play elsewhere. This perhaps may be the reason why Goa lost to ATK," the FC Goa official continued, blaming that this is highly negligent on the part of the organisers of the ISL to allow such incidences to happen and let the erring club to get away by paying a small penalty and get an undue advantage.
Delhi Dynamos have resorted to such tactics perhaps taking a queue from ATK.
