MARGAO
Dicarpale Sports Club came from behind to beat Cuncolim Union 2-1 and qualify for the quarter-finals of the 25th Fr Basilio Andrade Memorial Football Tournament, organised by Associacao Academica de Majorda Utorda Calata.
Viraj Velip put Cuncolim ahead after Daulat Dessai set him up with a cutback from the left. Dicarpale responded with two goals in quick succession to turn the match around.
Milton Colaco equalised with a powerful strike after receiving a pass from Jerry Miranda, who had collected a long ball from goalkeeper Piedade Colaco. Milton then set up Ali Khan with a cross from the left, allowing him to tap home the winner.
Cuncolim had earlier threatened through Vinod Velim and Daulat, but Piedade and a goal-line clearance by Jerry kept Dicarpale in the contest. Dicarpale held on to their lead to secure a place in the last eight.
