Don Bosco High School, Tuem emerged champions of the U-17 Boys Cluster-1 Pernem Inter-School Sepak Takraw Tournament organised by the Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs (DSYA) at the Sawalwada Sports Complex, Pernem, on Monday.
Don Bosco High School defeated Shri Vasant Vidyalaya, Siolim, 2-1 in the final to clinch the title. A total of 16 schools participated in the tournament.
The Tuem school began its title campaign with a win over People’s High School, Camurlim, in the pre-quarterfinals. They then defeated Harmal Panchakroshi School in the quarterfinals before overcoming Keerti Vidyalaya, Siolim, in the semifinals.
With the victory, Don Bosco High School, Tuem, secured qualification to represent Cluster-1 Pernem at the state-level U-17 Boys Sepak Takraw tournament.
The team comprised of Nashwin Lobo, Domnic Coelho, Brajil Nayak, Aloysius Fernandes (captain) and Bishal Nayak, along with TSO Cluster-1 Pernem Franky Rodrigues, PE teacher Stany Lobo and match officials.
