Panjim Gymkhana defeated Navhind Cricket Club by eight wickets in a GCA B Division Tiswadi Zone match played at SAG Ground, Campal on Thursday.
Electing to bat, Navhind Cricket Club was all out for a dismal 137 in 34 overs. Vasudev Mangueshkar top-scored with 47. From a precarious 59/6, Mangueshkar found an ally in Dilip Palkar who made 25 to take the score to 125 before Palkar was dismissed. In the Panjim Gymkhana attack, Saurabh Singh had the best returns of 3/14.
In reply, Panjim Gymkhana had a horror start, losing opener Ilyas Naroo to a run-out on the first ball of the chase. From 17/2, the other opener Naresh Parsekar (65) and Ashay Madne on (58) joined hands for an unbroken third-wicket stand of 121 runs to see their side home in 17 overs.
