Goa and Dempo SC youngster Eldrad Braganza earned a call-up to the India U-17 men’s national team camp, as the All India Football Federation (AIFF) appointed former India international Mehrajuddin Wadoo as the team’s head coach.
For Braganza, the call-up provides an opportunity to impress the national selectors and stake a claim for a place in the India squad for the qualifiers.
Wadoo, 42, has taken charge of the Blue Colts as they began their preparatory camp at the Don Bosco Oratory Ground, Fatorda, on Wednesday.
The ongoing camp is currently in its trial phase as the team begins preparations for the AFC U-17 Asian Cup Uzbekistan 2027 Qualifiers.
India have been placed in Group E of the qualifiers, which will be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from November 11 to 20.
The Blue Colts will face hosts Malaysia, Palestine, Singapore and Guam in the group stage.
