MARGAO: Enfermos Sports Club rallied from behind to hold St Cruz Society of Poitomodo 3-3 in the Salcete Zone GFA Third Division League at Rosary ground, Navelim on Friday.
In an evenly contested match, both the teams started the game in attacking fashion. Ruflon Monteiro drew the first blood for Poitomodo in the fourth minute. However their joy was short-lived as five minutes later Delroy Pereira cancelled the lead with a stiff shot.
Stung by the equaliser, St Cruz Society of Poitomodo went into the attacking mode and Sertorio Monteiro regained the lead in the 23rd minute. Post resumption, Enfermos Sports Club forwards showed urgency and attacked the rival goal and Wayne Fernandes restored the parity in the 58th minute.
Unfazed, St Cruz Society of Poitomodo unleashed a flurry of attacks and in the 71st minute, Sertorio Monteiro made it 3-2 in favour of Poitomodo. With the time ticking, Delroy Pereira levelled the scores in the 79th minute to splits the points.
