Fatima Convent High School, Margao claimed the under-14 basketball winners title on defeating Chubby Cheeks School Porvorim, recently.
Fatima Convent players outplayed their opponents in all the departments of the game to emerge victorious by 42-5 margin at Don Bosco High School grounds, Panaji.
On their way to finals, the winners played against St Anthony’s from Duler and put up a similar score of the board. In all, four schools from all over Goa participated in the tournament organised by Goa Basketball Association.
Speaking to the media, an elated Fatima coach Elvis Fernandes said the players put in a lot of hard work during the practices and that it is a proud moment not only for him and the school but also for the parents of the players.
