Fatorda Veterans were crowned champions of the 2nd All Goa Marc Caterers Veterans Football Tournament after defeating Alvares Veterans 4-0 in the final at Nuvem ground on Sunday.
Fatorda made a flying start, with Rosario Dias opening the scoring just two minutes into the contest. Tony Crasto then doubled the advantage before Joaquim Fernandes added another to put Fatorda firmly in control.
Alvares Veterans struggled to contain Fatorda's attacking pressure, and the latter continued to dominate proceedings. Ricardo Carvalho completed the scoring in the second half as Fatorda sealed a convincing 4-0 victory.
Raju Cardozo was named Man of the Match for his impressive performance in the final.
Chief Guest Lyndon Monteiro of Together for Nuvem and social worker presented the winners' trophy and cash prize to the Fatorda Veterans.
Individual prizes were presented by Fr. Venancio, Parish Priest of Nuvem; Johny and Manuel Borges, Panch members of Nuvem; Sir Luis Vas, former physical education teacher; and Rafael, former Salcete football player.
