FC Goa have been fined Rs 4,40,000 and two of their key players, Luciano Sabrosa and Rafael Dumas, suspended for two matches by the All India Football Federation (AIFF) Disciplinary Committee on Friday.
The team and the two players were sanctioned for misdemeanours in the Indian Super League match against Kerala Blasters on November 8. The Gaurs conceded a last-gasp goal to lose the match 1-2 after going down to nine men in the second half. FC Goa strongly protested several decisions that went against them in the match.
"The disciplinary committee have fined FC Goa Rs 2,40,000 and Rs 2,00,000 for two separate incidents of 'team misconduct' under Article 53 'A' and 53 'B' of the AIFF Disciplinary Code," an ISL statement said. "Luciano Sabrosa and Rafael Dumas were found guilty of 'offensive behaviour towards match officials' under the AIFF Disciplinary Code Article 58 for aggressive attitude towards match referee during Match 33 of the Hero ISL 2016 ( November 8, 2016 vs Kerala Blasters FC) played at Kochi."
Both Luciano and Rafael were not available for selection in FC Goa's home game against NorthEast United FC on Friday and will also miss the following home match against Mumbai City FC on November 16.
