MARGAO: FC Siolim produced a remarkable second-half comeback before prevailing 5-3 in the penalty shootout against Don Bosco Oratory Fatorda to storm into the semi-finals of the 36th St Ann's Inter-Village Soccer Tournament 2026, supported by the Sports Authority of Goa (SAG) and powered by the Madhavrao Dhavlikar Charitable Trust, at the Animal Husbandry Ground, Curti-Ponda.
Fatorda dominated the opening half and raced to a 3-1 lead at the break through goals from Francis Andrade, Jaston Dias and Jeff Barretto. Siddarth Shirodkar kept Siolim in the contest by pulling one back before halftime.
Siolim returned a transformed side after the interval. Dallesh Pednekar reduced the deficit before Gaurav Vaiguenkar struck the equaliser to make it 3-3 and force the match into a penalty shootout.
Keeping their composure from the spot, FC Siolim converted five penalties to seal a 5-3 shootout victory and book their place in the last four. Siolim will now face Raia Sporting Club in the second semi-final on July 15.
Former Goa Football Association vice-president Francis Fernandes presented the Man of the Match award to Gaurav Vaiguenkar of FC Siolim.
