Fr Agnel College, CES College dominate with huge wins

Fr. Agnel College, Pilar and Cuncolim Educational Society’s College scored huge wins on Day 8 of the Goa University Inter-Collegiate Football Championship 2025-26 for Men being played at Goa Univesity ground and Rosary College ground.

At Goa University ground, the day kicked off with Fr. Agnel College of Arts & Commerce, Pilar showcasing ruthless efficiency in their 8-0 demolition of Dhempe College of Arts & Science, Miramar. The match was effectively over by halftime with seven goals scored. Pritam Basak opened the floodgates in the 5th minute. Ruben netted a brace (13th & 26th), Tanvesh added one (17th), and Shaniel Lucas struck twice in quick succession (18th & 20th). Joven Fernandes completed the first-half rampage in the 30th minute. Nayan Chetri scored the lone goal of the second half in the 47th minute to complete the tally.

In the second scheduled match, Dempo Charities Trust’s Srinivassa Sinai Dempo College of Commerce & Economics, Cujira, Bambolim were awarded a walkover against Goa College of Music, Altinho.

The third match saw Rosary College of Commerce & Arts, Navelim comfortably defeat P.G. Goa University by 3-0. Rohan Yadav scored the first goal in the 15th minute. The second half belonged to Joshua Caveia, who netted two goals in the 39th and 68th minutes to seal the victory.

Meanwhile, at Rosary ground, Govt. College of Arts, Science & Commerce, Khandola managed a hard-fought 1-0 win against Dnyanprassarak Mandal’s College and Research Centre, Assagao. The solitary goal came late in the game, scored by Gaurav Kaulekar in the 70th minute.

The second match at this venue mirrored the scoreline of the day's opener, as Cuncolim Educational Society’s College of Arts & Commerce, Cuncolim thrashed Sant Sohirobanath Ambiye Government College of Arts & Commerce, Pernem by 8-0. Leading 6-0 at the break, Cuncolim were powered by Saish Gaonkar, who scored a hat-trick in the first half (12th, 24th, 34th minute) and added a fourth in the 50th minute. Prince Figueredo also contributed two goals (2nd & 19th), while Tohid Yattanale (31st minute) and Pranay Velip (55th minute) each scored once. Saish Gaonkar was named the Best Performer for his sensational four-goal effort.

In the final fixture, Govt. College of Arts, Science & Commerce, Sanquelim defeated the same Pernem college by 6-0. Ramnath Parab was the star, scoring four goals in total: two in the first half (5th & 16th minute) and two more in the second (43rd & 53rd minute). Aayan Maldar (27th minute) and Heramb Sawant (37th minute) contributed the other goals. Ramnath Parab was recognized as the Best Performer of the match.
