Galaxy (Chimbel) and Warrior Boys (St Cruz) won the football and volleyball finals respectively at the District Sports Tournaments in Football and Volleyball organised jointly by YUVA in association with Nehru Yuva Kendra Panaji, in Mala to mark the 125th birth anniversary of Babasaheb Ambedkar.
In the football finals, Galaxy (Chimbel) defeated New Stars (Betim) 2-1. In volleyball, Warrior Boys (St Cruz) defeated Scorpion Boys (Taleigao) in a three-setter, 2-1 to win the title.
Panaji MLA, Siddharth Kuncalienkar was the chief guest, Kalidas Ghatwal of NYK was the guest of honour while Dr Rufino Monteiro, President of YUVA & Chairman GFDC presided over the closing ceremony. Raghuvir Mahale, Vice-President of YUVA proposed the vote of thanks and Gayatri Bhingi, Secretary-YUVA compered.
