GFA Relegation League: Sesa, Guardian Angel play drab draw

MARGAO

Sesa FA and Guardian Angel SC played out a tense goalless draw in their latest match in the CAM Goa Professional League (Relegation League) at Duler Stadium, Mapusa, on Monday. The game was an evenly contested affair, with both teams creating some good chances, but ultimately neither side could find the back of the net.
Sesa FA started the game brightly and had an early chance in the 5th minute when Rohan Kamble’s freekick from outside the box was cleared by the Guardian Angel SC defence. Sesa nearly got the opening goal from the resultant corner, but Rohan Kamble’s shot narrowly missed the mark.
Guardian Angel almost took the lead in the 25th minute when Frank Adusei put the ball in the back of the net, but the goal was ruled offside. Frank Adusei continued to threaten the Sesa defence, and he almost scored a superb goal when he danced his way past the rival defence, but his left-footed strike sailed wide.
Later in the first half, Guardian Angel missed another chance when Frank sent in a cross to Valerian Hilario, whose looping header was pushed for a corner by Sesa FA keeper Roanal Gaunkar. Roanal came up with another diving save to deny Hilario, and he was in fine form throughout the first half, denying Frank once again and keeping his side in the game.
Guardian Angel relied heavily on crosses into the area, using their flanks to maximum potential, but Sesa FA keeper Roanal, who was rightly named as the player of the match, thwarted every danger.
Guardian Angel SC goalkeeper came with a fine save to deny Clencio Pinto’s brilliant shot at goal.

U-15 League: Sesa win 5-goal thriller
MARGAO: Sesa FA defeated Salgaocar Football Club 3-2 in a closely contested match in the GFA U-15 Division I League match at the Sinquetim ground, Navelim.
Sunil Hansda's goal, which gave Sesa the lead in the fifth minute, gave them a great start. The situation, however, quickly deteriorated when Salgaocar’s Clevic Fernandes scored an own goal in the 27th minute to give Sesa a 2-0 advantage.
Granville Fernandes' own goal for Sesa in the 32nd minute put a twist in the story as Salgaocar pulled a goal back. Both teams made a strong effort to win in the second half, with Sesa looking for a third goal to secure the victory and Salgaocar seeking to draw even.
Salgaocar's captain scored an important goal in the 85th minute to make the score 2-2 and set up an exciting conclusion to the game.
Ferren Gonsalves' 87th-minute goal, however, gave Sesa the advantage and gave them the hard-fought victory.
