The second term of the Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) examination conducted by the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education will commence on Wednesday at 20 centres across the State.
The examination will begin at 9.30 am everyday from March 15 to 31 in all streams -- arts, commerce, science and vocational. Only on March 20, 23 and 27 the exam of the vocational stream will begin at 12 noon, a press release issued by the Board Secretary, V B Naik said
A total of 19,807 students are registered to appear for the examination. Of these 9,932 are boys and 9,875 girls.
In the Arts stream there are 5,066 students registered and 6,079 have opted for the Commerce stream. The Science stream has 5,381 students registered while 3,281 students have opted for the vocational stream.
The first term examination was conducted by the Board in October-November and its results were made accessible to the students on its website.
The final results will be computed based on the performance in both the terms but no separate marksheets will be issued for the two terms, the Board Secretary said in the press release.
Also, the board will discontinue this pattern of holding two term examinations which was introduced due to the uncertainties during the pandemic and from the next 2023-34 academic year will revert back to the pre-Covid pattern of a single exam in March/April, the press release adds.
