Sources informed The Goan that a senior politician in the ruling dispensation tried to settle the matter quietly.
According to the source, a PSO of a senior politician in the government called up the Investigation Officer and requested him not to impose the harsh IPC section in the case.
Sources also question the manner in which a low ranked officer is being made scapegoat in the case.
“You mean to say that the Police Station incharge was not aware about the developments when a case of such a magnitude is being registered?” a retired police officer asked.
