GFA restructure First Division League for upcoming season

The Goa Football Association's First Division League for the upcoming season will feature 17 teams, divided into two groups following a recent unanimous decision by participating clubs. This restructuring, determined by a random draw, aims to enhance competition and streamline the league format.

Group Allocations: Group A (9 Teams): Nuvem Sports Club, Cuncolim Union, Mandopa Sporting Club, Santa Cruz Club of Cavelossim, St. Savio Sports Club, Calangute, Clube Sao Miguel de Taleigao, Youth Club of Manora, Candolim SC, AA. de Moira

Group B (8 Teams): Young Boys of Tonca, Sao Jose de Areal, Albert Developers Sports Club, St. Anthony SC, Marna - Siolim, Chapora Yuvak Sangh, Pilarne Sports Club, Dempo Sports Club, Goa Velha Sports Club

Player and Official Registration: Each team can register 25 players. An additional five U-21 players can be registered for a fee of Rs. 1,000 per player. Teams can register seven officials: Head Coach, Manager, Assistant Coach, Goalkeeper Coach, Physio, Kit Boy, and Assistant Manager. All player and official registrations must be completed on the CRS/CMS system prior to the league's commencement.

Match Day Regulations: Each team must field 11 players. 10 substitutes and 5 officials are permitted on the bench. The starting lineup must include two U-21 players. These two U-21 players must collectively accumulate at least 90 minutes of playing time per match.

Promotion Pathway: The top four teams from both Group A and Group B will advance to a playoff stage. The top teams from each group from the playoff stage will play in the final. The winner of the final match will earn promotion to the Professional League for the 2025-26 season.
