GFDC Arambol bagged a convincing 5-0 win against GFDC Pernem in Zone 1 of the U-13 girls match of the GFDC Rising Star Football Festival at Carmel Church ground, Arambol.
Larya Fernandes scored a hat-trick and Glenfa Rodrigues secured a brace. Larya from the Arambol centre was later adjudged as the player of the match. In another match, Arambol beat Pernem, 3-0 in the U-13 boys category. Reniel D’mello, Johncy Rodrigues and Sanford Fernandes scored one goal each for the winning side. Sanford from Arambol centre was named as the player of the match.
In Zone 2, GFDC Vagator held GFDC Siolim to a draw, 1-1 in a U-10 boy’s match played at St Michael’s Convent High School ground, Vagator. The scorer for Siolim was Yuraj Chodankar who was later picked as the player of the match for his outstanding performance. Ishant Lingutkar scored the goal for the Vagator side.
In another match Vagator registered a 2-1 win over Siolim in a U-13 boy’s match. Manju Chawan from Vagator secured a brace and was declared as the player of the match. The lone goal scorer for Siolim was Jerson. In the U-13 girls match at the same venue, GFDC Vagator got the better of GFDC Siolim, 1-0. Saloni Kalangutkar scored the lone goal and was named as the player of the match.
In Zone 3, GFDC Poira beat GFDC Moira, 1-0 in an U-10 boys match held at Chowgule ground, Sinquerim. Pratik Bhower scored the winner. In another match, GFDC Moira humbled GFDC Poira, 7-0 in the U-13 boy’s category. Atmaram Jadhav scored four goals, Youraj Naik secured a brace and Frazer Fernandes netted one for the Moira centre.
In Zone 4, GFDC Mayem beat GFDC Zarme 2-0 in a U-13 boys match at Zarme ground. Prathmesh Kunkalkar and Ranjit Tete netted one each for the Mayem centre. In another match, GFDC Mayem crushed GFDC Zarme 6-0 in the U-10 boys category. Gajanan Gosavio scored four goals and Tanish Arondekar scored the other two goals for Mayem.
In Zone 5 match played at Village panchayat ground, Marcel, GFDC Corlim beat GFDC Marcel, 2-1 in a U-10 Boys match. The Corlim side took the lead in the first half through Rohit Haunoor. GFDC Marcel levelled through Shreyan Gawas, 1-1. Later Rohit secured his brace for the day to be adjudged as the player of the match.
In another match, GFDC Marcel walked past GFDC Corlim 1-0 in the U-13 girls category. The winning goal for Marcel was scored by Anshika Gupta. In another match at the same venue, GFDC Marcel overcame GFDC Corlim, 1-0 in the U-13 boys category. Mangesh Hebbalkar scored the winner.
