Goa’s Anjana shines in Indian badminton team

India ‘A’ girls team went down to France 2-3 and missed out on the bronze medal at World School Championship (WSC) badminton 2018 in under-18 category;  organised by International School Federation (ISF) & School Games  Federation of India (SGFI) in co-operation with Govt of Maharashtra at. 

India ‘A’, who reached the semi-finals after defeating Brazil  and UAE, had Goa’s Anjana Kumari in their ranks. The State No 1 player won her  doubles match partnering Chintan Kalita of Assam by defeating  Sharone Bauer & Charlotte Ganci 16-21, 22-20 & 21-19. Anjana  also won her singles match against Marg Bronxel in two straight sets 21-15  & 21-17. Meanwhile, India ‘A’ boys secured second place and thus won silver medal at the Championship.

Anjana arrived home from Pune after playing her first international tournament representing India.
