Chhattisgarh made a steady start against Goa in the Gujarat Cricket Association Men's U-23 Multidays Practice Match at Gujarat College Cricket Ground A, Ahmedabad, on Sunday.
After winning the toss and electing to bat, Chhattisgarh reached 210 for four in 63 overs by the end of the day's play. Goa were yet to begin their first innings.
Shobhit Sharma anchored the innings with a patient 68 off 126 balls, striking eight boundaries. Ashish Kumar Dahariya contributed 44 off 71 balls, while Yash Kumar Varda scored 33 off 68 balls. Ambrish Kumar remained unbeaten on 32, with Shashwat Sharda not out on 14. Captain-wicketkeeper Rahul Pradhan made 11 before being dismissed.
Goa’s bowling attack was led by Rudresh Sharma, who claimed three wickets for 80 runs from 21 overs. Rahul Vishwakarma took the other wicket, conceding 37 runs in 11 overs.
Goa captain Aryan Narvekar used six bowlers during the innings. Chhattisgarh's fourth wicket fell at 172, but Ambrish and Sharda added an unbeaten partnership to take the total past 200.
