The on going Goa-Jammu & Kashmir Ranji Trophy match in Group C is heading for a third day finish. On the second day in Surat, hapless Goa were bundled out for a paltry 77 after resuming the day at their overnight score of 43 for 5 while taking guard in reply to J&K's 227.
In what has been the fastest-unfolding match of the round so far, Goa were 22 without loss at stumps in their second innings while chasing 412 at the Lalabhai Contractor Stadium.
Jammu & Kashmir, who were bowled out for 227 in their first innings after choosing to bat, restricted Goa who managed to add just 34 runs to their Day 1 score. Ram Dayal bagged 4 for 15 and was ably supported by Umar Nazir (3 for 10), as wickets fell at regular intervals. Only three batsmen from Goa were able to reach double figures.
Jammu & Kashmir batted again to score 261 on the second day, with Ian Dev Singh and Puneet Bisht scoring quick half-centuries. Amulaya Pandrekar and Amit Yadav of Goa bagged three wickets each, but even as they managed to dismiss Jammu and Kashmir in 61.3 overs, they were left with a mountain of runs facing them in their second innings.
