Goa College of Engineering, Farmagudi and Goa Medical College scored convincing wins in the 10th day of the Goa University Inter Collegiate Cricket Men Championship 2024-25.
Goa College of Engineering, Farmagudi won by 8 runs. St. Xavier’s College, Mapusa won the toss and elected to bowl first. Goa College of Engineering posted a total of 120 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Atchut Dalal anchored the innings with a patient 40 runs off 42 balls, while Narayan Sawant provided valuable support with a quickfire 24 runs off 20 balls. Vedant Chandekar was the pick of the bowlers for St. Xavier’s College, claiming 2 wickets for 11 runs.
In response, St. Xavier’s College was bundled out for 112 runs in 18 overs. Harsh Bhagat top-scored with 29 runs off 29 balls, but the team struggled to build partnerships. Narayan Sawant starred with the ball, taking 4 crucial wickets for 20 runs, and Prabhakar Shetye chipped in with 3 wickets for 11 runs. Narayan Sawant (Goa College of Engineering) - 24 runs (20 balls) and 4 wickets for 20 runs was the man of the match.
In the second match, Goa Medical College won by 3 wickets. P.E.S. College, Farmagudi won the toss and elected to bat first.
P.E.S. College managed to score 108 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in their 18 overs. Sagar Gaude contributed 26 runs off 20 balls, and Siddharth Shirodkar added 21 runs off 14 balls. Arsh Sardessai was the standout bowler for Goa Medical College, taking 3 wickets for 22 runs.
Goa Medical College chased down the target in 15.1 overs, scoring 109 runs for the loss of 7 wickets. Arsh Sardesai continued his excellent performance with the bat, scoring a quick 32 runs off 17 balls. Jarvis Faleiro also played a crucial role with 26 runs off 21 balls. Sagar Gaude picked up 2 wickets for 18 runs for P.E.S. College.
