Compassion Sports Club clinch GFA U-13 Girls' title in thrilling tie-breaker

Compassion Sports Club triumphed over Union of Chinchinim Villagers 5-4 in a dramatic penalty shootout, securing the GFA Under-13 Girls' Football Tournament championship at Sinqutem Sports Complex, Navelim, on Thursday.

The final ended 2-2 after regulation time, setting the stage for a tense tie-breaker.

Compassion started strong, with Asma Bandodkar scoring in the fourth minute, followed by Jasmine Baral doubling their lead just two minutes later. However, Union of Chinchinim Villagers fought back, with Risa Oliveira netting in the 12th and 22nd minutes to level the score.

The second half saw both teams pressing for a winner, but neither could break the deadlock. In the decisive penalty shootout, Compassion Sports Club ultimately prevailed, claiming the championship title.

The celebration saw the presence of Chief Guest Avertano Furtado, former minister, Dr. Caitano Fernandes, President of the GFA, Antony Pango, Senior Vice President of the GFA, Schubert Furtado, Treasurer of the GFA, and GFA Executive Members Ravi Cabral and Costao Paul Rodriguez.
