Goa’s head coach Charles Dias expressed full confidence in his team’s ability to perform well at the upcoming 38th National Games in Uttarakhand.
Speaking on Monday, Dias said, "We’ve been eagerly awaiting this competition and we are determined to deliver an outstanding performance."
He added, "I’ve been in this role for a little over a year, and our goal has always been to achieve the best possible result at the National Games."
Assistant Coach Levino Pereira and Manager Custodio Fernandes, a GFA executive member, are also part of the team’s preparations. The team received blessings from the Assistant Parish Priest of Rosary Church, Navelim, who wished them good luck. Dr Caitano Fernandes, president of the Goa Football Association (GFA), was also present during the team's send-off.
"The Goa team has been well-prepared with two friendly matches and all the necessary support for the competition," said Dias. "The State teams have improved significantly, and we expect a balanced competition. A lot of games will be tight, and small details will determine the winners."
Sesa Football Academy midfielder Clive Miranda will captain the 22-member Goa squad for the National Games.
