MARGAO
Curtorim Gymkhana emerged as champions of the Simon Barreto Memorial Inter-Village Football Tournament, organised by Maina Sports Club at the DYSA Ground in Curtorim, defeating Fr. Agnelo YSC Paroda 2-0 in the final on Sunday.
Ryan Fernandes and Nezly Hilario each scored a goal in the two halves to secure the victory for Curtorim Gymkhana.
The Chief Guest Yuri Alemao (Leader of Opposition) presented the prizes in the presence of Alexio Reginaldo (MLA of Curtorim Constituency), Michelle Rebelo (ZP Member, Curtorim), Armando Colaco (Dronacharya Awardee), Rui Menezes (Ex-Sarpanch), Fr Manuel Dias, Fr Domnic Savio Vaz (Coach of Panjim Footballers), Roque Carneiro, Milagres Rodrigues, Alfred Baretto, GFA Executive Members Antonio Pango (Sr. Vice President of GFA) and Andrew Ferrao (GFA Executive Member), along with various club members and dignitaries. Earlier in the day, Armando Colaco was felicitated by Yuri Alemao.
