Goa, represented by GFDC players, held Bangladesh to a goalless draw in the Subroto Cup International Football Tournament 2016 organised for U-14 Sub Juniors Boys at Santosh T, New Wellington Camp Grounds, Delhi, on Thursday. Bangladesh enjoyed the lion’s share of ball possession.

Although Goa disrupted their opponents’ attacking flow by initiating counter-attacks sporadically, the Goan side failed to restrict Bangladesh in their half.

With the game largely confined to the midfield, both the teams found it hard to foster clear goal scoring chances.

Bangladesh were all around the Goa territory and regularly tried to break past the Goan defence but were unsuccessful in doing so. Frevino Fernandes, Goa goalkeeper did a brilliant job.

"I am extremely happy with the brave performance put up by my boys against all adversaries including the hot weather prevailing in the capital," said member secretary of GFDC, Alexio Da Costa who is currently with the team in Delhi.

Goa will next lock horns with TAFS on September 16 at 4pm.
