Sesa Football Academy made short work of Velsao Sports & Cultural Club by 4-2 to enter into the quarterfinals of the opening match of the 17th Police Cup football tournament organised by Goa Police Sports Club (Sports Cell) at Duler ground, Mapusa on Sunday.
Sesa FA were leading by 3-2 margin at the breather. Ashley Cardozo scored the brace while Akash Kudnekar and Faheez Mohammad scored a goal each for Sesa FA. Both the goals for Velsao SCC were scored by James Fernandes.
Ashley scored two goals in the 9th and 30th minute of the match to give two goals lead the Sesa FA. Velsao fought back and equalised through a brace from James Fernandes in the 36th & 38th minute. Just before the breather “ Akash Kudnekar scored from close to give Sesa FA a lead (3-2). Later in the second session, Faheez Mohammad consolidated the lead scoring the fourth goal for Sesa FA in the 55th minute of the play.
Dominic Soares of Sesa FA was adjudged the player of the match.
