PANAJI: The final round of the 78th Senior National Football Championship for the Santosh Trophy will kick off on December 14, 2024, in Hyderabad, Telangana. The tournament will see 12 teams compete for the prestigious title, with matches taking place at two venues: Deccan Arena and the GMC Balayogi Athletic Stadium.
The teams are divided into two groups of six, with the top four teams from each group qualifying for the quarter-finals. The quarter-finals will be held on December 26 and 27, 2024. The semi-finals will be played on December 29, and the final will take place on December 31, 2024.
Goa will be part of Group B, alongside strong teams like Delhi, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Odisha, and Meghalaya. Goa's first match will be against Kerala on December 15, 2024.
The Goa Football Association has announced its squad for the 78th Santosh Trophy final round. The players selected to represent Goa are:
Antonio Dylan Da Silva, Sanij Budge, Saiesh Kunkolkar, Kunal Kundaikar, Deeshank Kunkalikar, Sarineo Fernandes, Sherwin Abranches, Joseph Clement, Shridharnath Gawas, Jobern Cardoz, Selwyn Miranda, Ronaldo Oliveira, Nigel Fernandes, Royal Oliveira, Dhiraj Chouhan, Ivon Costa, Doyal Alves, Brian Faria, Pushkar Prabhu, Clencio Pinto, Shubert Pereira and Clive Miranda.
The team will be coached by Mateus Costa as Head Coach, with Sanjeev Nagvenkar serving as the Manager. Aaron Rodrigues will be the Physiotherapist, and Francisco Savio Vaz will assist as the Assistant Coach.
Goa is aiming to make a strong run in the tournament, which features top teams from across the country. The team’s opening match against Kerala will be an important test for their title ambitions.
The matches in the final round of the Santosh Trophy will run until December 31, with the best teams from the group stages advancing to the knockout rounds.
