A spirited comeback led by the dynamic Fr. Mario Noronha powered Goykar Boys to a thrilling 3-2 victory over Amigos Boys in the grand finale of the Jubilee Year 2025 Goa Priests Futsal Champions League, held at the Don Bosco Oratory, Panjim.

In a contest filled with passion, camaraderie, and competitive spirit, Goykar Boys—featuring the tournament’s top scorer Fr. Mario, captain Fr. Myron Fernandes, and teammates Fr. Ryan, Fr. Aiden, Fr. Dylon, Fr. Leslie, Fr. Christopher, and Fr. Benson—showed grit and resilience to overturn a two-goal deficit and lift the coveted title.

The final started brightly for Amigos Boys, captained by Fr. Richard, as Fr. Americo struck twice to give his team a 2-0 advantage. However, Goykar Boys mounted a memorable fightback. Fr. Mario showcased his scoring prowess with a brilliant brace to level the match at 2-2. The decisive moment came when Fr. Leslie Noronha pounced on a loose ball inside the box to score the winner, sending the Goykar bench and supporters into raptures.

In the semi-finals, Goykar Boys edged out Team X 3-2, while Amigos Boys secured a 2-0 win over Good Shepherd.

The tournament saw participation from ten teams, comprising priests from across the Archdiocese of Goa and Daman, coming together for an evening of fellowship, fitness, and friendly rivalry.

Match officials Nelson Landez, Francis Sousa, and Fulgencio Cardozo ensured the smooth conduct of the tournament.

At the closing ceremony, Fr. Succoro Colaco, former professor at Rachol Seminary, presented the trophies to the winners and runners-up, commending the spirit of the event.
