PANAJI
Guardian Angel High School, Curchorem, emerged as the Under-17 Girls State Champions in Sepaktakraw at the Campal Indoor Complex, Panaji.
The team defeated Dr. K. B. Hedgewar High School, Panaji (15–9, 17–15) in the pre-quarterfinal, St. Anne’s High School, Vasco (15–9, 15–10) in the quarterfinal, and S.K.K. High School, Keri (15–6, 17–15) in the semifinal.
In the final, Guardian Angel defeated Infant Jesus High School, Cuncolim (15–10, 15–11) to clinch the championship.
The Guardian Angel High School Boys finished as state U-14 runners-up. The team put up a strong performance throughout the tournament and reached the final, where they lost to St. Anthony’s High School, Monte de Guirim, Mapusa.
