Guardian Angel Higher Secondary School, Curchorem, emerged as the Zone IV Girls' Football Champion at the Inter-Higher Secondary Football Tournament organised by the Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs (DSYA) at the Malkarnem Sports Complex ground.
In a closely contested final, Guardian Angel Higher Secondary School defeated St. Alex Higher Secondary School, Curtorim, 3-2 in the tie-breaker after both teams played attacking football throughout regular time. Despite several attacking moves from both sides, neither team could find the back of the net during regulation time, forcing the match into a tie-breaker.
For Guardian Angel, Valena Fernandes, Khushi Singh and Ananya Gowda successfully converted their attempts in the tie-breaker. Acira Fernandes and Mansi Pango scored for St. Alex Higher Secondary School. Earlier, the chief guest, Sanjay Shetkar, APEO, and Aditya Sangelkar were introduced to the players. They later distributed certificates to the participating teams and players.
The victorious Guardian Angel Higher Secondary School team was trained and guided by Physical Education teachers Antonio Dsouza and Rasika Velip.
