The Directorate of Art and Culture each year honours eminentpersonalities in the fi eld of art and culture by conferring on them the GoaState Cultural Award for their contributions and achievements in various artforms like music, drama, tiatr, bhajan, literature, visual art etc.
From among the 23 personalities to be honoured this year,six are tiatr personalities-two tiatr musicians and four senior artistes.
Maestro Luis Saturninho Cota (tiatr music), Cyriaco Dias andOphelia Cabrale D’Souza are among those that will be honoured for 2010-11,while Maestro Agnelo Dias (music), Premanand Sangodkar and Luciano Dias will bethe award recipients for the year 2011-12.
The award carries a cash prize of Rs 20,000 and will bepresented to the awardees at a special function to be organised by theDepartment of Art and Culture shortly.
