The Department of Physical Education, Don Bosco College, Panaji, Goa will organise ‘Hercules 2018’ on August 28 and 29 on the occasion of National Sports Day at the Don Bosco College campus.
It is for the first time that the Don Bosco doors are being opened to the entire strongman community of Goa and the hunt is on for the first ever inter college ‘Strongest Man’. The competition will be classified into two rounds: elimination round (August 28) and the final round
(August 29).
The elimination round will be held on Tuesday, 9 am onwards. Registered candidates have been asked to report to the venue for along with the medical certificate from any government hospital. The elimination round will consist of fitness tests and a task test. Based on the performance, the participants will qualify for the final round to be held on Wednesday.
The final round will consist of challenges like tower run: 660 steps, 15 squats with 60 kg, 20 deadlift with 90 kg , tyre flip for 30 metre distance, rope climbing for 3 metres, Thar pulling for 20 metre distance, 25 kg loading-unloading race with 10 repetitions, 200 rope waves, sand crawling, zigzag run, 15 water burpees and 80 metre sprint.
Three male participants from each college are allowed to participate in the event, which expects to have an attendance of over 120 students competing for the top 3 positions. 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners will be awarded with cash prize, trophy and certificate.
