MARGAO
A triple strike by Rahul Gaonkar and Akshay Velip each helped hosts Cuncolim Education Society (CES) College maul GMFC, Dharbandora 10-0 in the 1st inter-college football tournament organised by CES College at Cuncolim ground on Friday.
In the second match, Govt College Borda beat St Joseph Vaz College, Cortalim 1-0. Santosh Vishwa Karmar netted the only goal for Borda. Vidya Prabodhini also defeated MES College, Zuarinagar 1-0. Nandish Shirodkar was on the mark. In the fourth match, Shree Damodar College overcame SVVM's College, Borim 1-0. Raj Kerkar scored the goal for Margao.
After completion of all three rounds, Govt College, Borda made it to the final along with hosts CES College, Cuncolim. In the 3rd place playoff, Shree Damodar College, Margao will face Vidya Prabodhini, Porvorim. Both matches are slated for Saturday, at 9 am and 10.30 am respectively, at Cuncolim Ground.
