IM Nitish Belurkar emerged champion at the 'Chess at Dreamhack 2023' All India Rapid chess tournament held at Hitex Centre, Hyderabad.
Amongst others, Nitish defeated IM Kushagra Mohan, IM Harikrishna A Ra, FM Ramakrishna J, IM Sammed Shete and drew with GM Karthik Venkatraman and IM Viani D'cunha to score 8 points with a rating gain of 30.4 points to emerge as the champion. IM Viani D'Cunha was placed second while IM Harikrishna A Ra settled for third.
In the blitz tournament of Chess at Dreamhack 2023, Nitish also won the third place scoring 8 points out of 9.
Nitish is a student of SS Dempo College of Commerce and Economics, Cujira.
